PURPOSE
The PULSEGUARD Pulsation Dampeners of the FlexOrber series are designed for use where double layer and "sandwich" PTFE diaphragm head metering pumps are required for hermetically sealed toxic, pyrophoric, and hazardous duty.
The flexorber Dampeners match the features of these high pressure chemical pumps. The dampeners also have, secondary containment sealing - see permeation detection port option. Double layer PTFE diaphragmed, see "DW" left of center line.

APPLICATIONS
The pump type with which these dampeners work, suffer inefficiency due to process liquid compressibility at temperature. This phenomenon, according to pump manufacture technical bulletins, produces a velocity jump shock at the commencement of each suction and each discharge stroke. Shock pressure waves in liquid typically travel at 1400 meters per second. Twice the velocity of a bullet. In order to address these shocking pulses they must be caused to enter the dampeners.
To ensure the entry of the pulses, and to isolate the system from them, the Flexorber pulsation dampeners have to at least have an entry and an exit connection. For use with multiple diaphragm pump heads, the piping base blocks, which intercept and prevent pulsation by-passing, may have up to 5 connection. One to each pump head and on to the system.

ADDITIONAL DESIGN BENEFITS OF MULTI PORT BASE BLOCKS. CONSTANT TEMPERATURE and IN PLACE FLUSHIBILITY
The dampener multi flow path "in line through flow" piping base blocks ensure constant temperature within the dampeners capsules, helping constant agitation, lack of sedimentation, and flushibility.
